Summary

This episode is off the typical topics of business building tips, but it's also a topic that comes up quite a bit when our family is around other business building families. At our recent CES live event it seemed like as many people talked to me about my kids and how we are educating and raising them as much as any other topic. In this episode I give a couple of practical tips for parenting your kids in a way that sets them up for success as an employee, or better yet in my humble opinion, as a business building warrior! If you don't have kids, this episode may not be for you, but for those who have been asking me to talk about this a bit, I hope you find these ideas practical and helpful! Hey, business building warrior. Welcome back to silent sales machine radio. Got another episode for you today. It's just little old me talking into the microphone, but I've got something to share with you today that I was reluctant to do this episode. I debated a little bit. Should I? And I've had multiple people approach me and say, oh, dude, you need to do a topic on,

0:21.2

you need to a topic of this for an episode. And enough people have now said that that I guess

0:27.0

I'm supposed to do it because my instinct was, no, it's, it's too niche. It doesn't appeal to

0:33.1

a broad enough audience. My advertisers might not like it. Oh, wait, we don't have advertisers.

0:38.8

So that doesn't matter. But I just want to make sure that every episode I do appeals to as

0:43.7

many listeners, as many business building warriors as possible. And this one just kind of feels like

0:48.8

a bit niche. But it seems like it's those ones that I'm kind of reluctant to do. And I'm like,

0:53.8

does this really fit with what we're building here?

0:55.7

I want to make sure and serve you well.

0:58.3

I'm often surprised.

0:59.9

Like, you know, when we brought my wife Andrea on, I knew you guys would love her.

1:02.9

It wasn't that you guys wouldn't love her.

1:04.3

Just is it going to be business enough that you guys raved about getting to know her and hearing her non-business perspective on the business that we're building.

1:14.6

So I was approached repeatedly, and I have been the past several weeks, about doing a topic on family and some tips for family.

1:22.2

And enough of you have met our kids at the CES events and spent time with them and hung out with them and had conversations.

1:29.7

And many of you have said things like, wow, okay, this whole homeschooling slash business thing

1:35.3

that you guys are doing and blending these worlds together and spending a lot of time under

1:39.1

the same roof.

1:40.1

And, you know, we're not out here trying to isolate ourselves from culture.

1:42.9

Trust me, we have very full calendars. Our kids are gone doing things with friends and in sports. And I mean, check this out. Our 14-year-old Zane is on a homeschool soccer team that won a statewide tournament. Like a bunch of big high schools were in this tournament. They won. Super close-knit, tight group kids. They're all homeschooled. You know,

2:01.0

so homeschooling has become more mainstream. It's not this isolationist thing that it used to be.

2:05.9

There's a lot of people doing it. And it mixes really, really well with the internet marketing
