Welcome to the perfume room.

I am coming at you live with a special recap solo episode of my recent France trip.

If you don't know, and if you're wondering where I was last week, I've been away for the past

two weeks in France. I went on a very special mother-daughter trip with my mom to celebrate her

recent retirement, and we had a very packed itinerary. So we started in Provence. Then we rented a car,

and we drove to Toulouse for one night, which was sort of like the midway stop.

Then we drove to Bordeaux. Then from Bordeaux, we took the TGV to Paris where we spent the

remainder of the trip. So I have written down in this big Google Doc all the different things

that I smelled, that I loved, that I purchased. So I feel like the starting point feels a little bit random, but let's just jump right into it. And I did talk about this

on Instagram a little bit. But the first fragrant thing that I purchased was in this medieval

town called Carcassonne. And that was a place that we stopped on our drive in between

Provence and Toulouse. It was like the perfect midway point.

And this was like this like medieval ancient village with a lot of history, which I am absolutely not going to do justice right now.

Because to be honest, my mom and I took this little like trolley tour around the perimeter

of this village and I kind of zoned out.

And the reason I zoned out is because they give you these headphones that you can

wear and you can tune it to the channel that speaks your language and hear it. But I always get

really weirded out with like shared headphones that don't get cleaned because, okay,

vulnerable fact about me, I somehow evaded having lice my entire childhood. And then as a 15-year-old 10th grader in high school,

I got it from using a pair of headphones in the media center. So I never wear public headphones,

and so I wasn't really paying attention. All this to say, I'm sure Clark Cousone has an

amazing history, and I am sorry for not doing it justice.
