Summary

Sleep is paramount to a happy household as Alex and I have found out when our daughter Alexa Love was born.
Carol has helped over 500 families including us to have a happy, settled baby who sleeps well. While Carol’s approach is to implement healthy sleeping habits from early on, she also specialises in issues in older babies and toddlers – working to remove sleep associations such as rocking/feeding to sleep and implementing better daytime naps with a simple, consistent routine.
Carol has a degree in psychology and educational psychotherapy. She attends ongoing training on child development and nutrition. She is a mother of two young boys herself and works in conjunction with a leading UK paediatrician to ensure that her routine and approach can be tailored for babies with allergies and reflux.
In addition to home visits and personal consultations, Carol has set up a unique online sleep consultation service which is a more affordable yet very effective option. She has also created a virtual community of Mums she has helped in the past, which she actively participates in on a daily basis to ensure people have a consistent sounding board for any issues that arise.

Hi, Carol. Thank you so much for being here with us. I'm so grateful that you have made

0:08.5

the time to share your knowledge and wisdom, and I'm really excited to share you with our

0:13.2

audience. Oh, so lovely to speak to you guys again and actually see you as well.

0:18.5

Yeah, for those of you who are not familiar with sleep training or what sleep trainers

0:24.5

do, the way Alex and I met Carol years ago when Alexa was a baby was when I was

0:29.8

literally pulling my hair out because Alexa was about five, five and a half months and

0:34.6

I was breastfeeding her to sleep. I was breastfeeding her to naps and literally that was the only

0:40.2

way I could get her to sleep is just on me. And it was just a real torture because she

0:45.7

was getting really big. And also if you, for those of you who've had a child, when you

0:51.8

have a child full of sleep and you have to get up to go to the washroom or do anything,

0:56.3

it's just really tricky situation. And yes, you can do that maybe in the first beginning

1:00.7

stages when you have a newborn and it's wonderful and lovely. But again, as the child grows,

1:05.8

you realize that's a very unsustainable way of doing things. And I am so grateful that

1:11.7

in my moment of despair, I just went on Google and I just, you know, searched sleep trainer

1:17.2

and you came up somehow your Facebook page came up and all these incredible feedbacks

1:23.0

from people that you worked with and these families that you've helped to a sleep. And

1:28.1

I could so resonate. I was like, oh my God, they're on the other side. They can get

1:31.6

sleep now there because funny enough when we had Alexa, we thought that let expression

1:37.6

where people say, oh, she sleeps like a baby or he sleeps like a baby. So you always think

1:41.8

baby's know how to sleep. Like they're just going to be born and they're going to know

1:45.8

how to sleep. And that was in the case with Alexa. Although I have to say from day one,

1:51.2

she always knew the difference between day and night and we always had a good chunk of
