And coming up, we're going to preview this weekend series against the Miami Marlins. Justin Clue has a couple of great interviews that he did this week talking about what's been going on with Miami

as they get started to the seasons. Really a good start to the season for the Marlins. He talked with

L.A. Sussman of Fish on First to get a little bit of a handle on exactly what it is that they've been

doing to kind of get themselves ahead of the game here in the early going. And then he also spoke with Zam Ziegner, author of The Forgotten Marlins, which is a book about

the 1956 to 1960 minor league team called the Marlins.

So we'll get into that just a bit here on this episode of the podcast.

But before we jump into all that kind of stuff, we just want to put a pin

on the Giants' series. The Phillies split the series against the Giants, winning the final

game of the series behind an unbelievable effort from the new second ace of the rotation,

Christopher Sanchez. I think it's fair to say right now that, at least here in the first part of the season,

Christopher Sanchez has leapfrogged Aranola as the number two starter on this team, and he is doing

ace-level stuff out there on the mound, everybody.

Seven innings against the Giants on Thursday, allow just four hits, two earned runs, one walk, and a

career high, 12 strikeouts. He now has a 2.96 ERA on the season. The Phillies have won each

of his last 11 starts, including Thursday's 6 to 4 win over the Giants to split that series

against a very, very good Giants team.

As, you know, as uneven as the Phillies have been playing, they split a series against one of the

hottest teams in baseball and are 11 and 8, one game behind the Mets in the National League East.

The Marlins come into this weekend, eight and ten.

They've lost three in a row, so they're hitting a little bit of a skid as

they come into Philadelphia. They're three and a half behind the Mets, two and a half games behind the

Phillies, again, still in a very, very early National League East, but don't tell that to the Braves
