0:13.5	podcast. Each episode we dive into the minds of some of the worst criminals in history and today we are talking
0:20.0	about the case of Jade Jenks. So today's case all I will say is that it
0:25.8	divides opinions. Jay Janks was a 30-something-year-old woman living in
0:31.5	California, she had a thriving business, everything was just going great in her life.
0:36.3	But one day, Jade was visiting her stepdad, who was an elderly man that she cared for, and his name was Tom Merriman.
0:44.3	Jade was over at his house cleaning, something that she did very often.
0:48.9	She then went into his office to do some cleaning and when she was cleaning she accidentally knocked the mouse on his
0:58.1	computer and when his PC screen came to life Jade saw in front of her something that would absolutely shock her to her core.
1:11.0	Because on the screen of the computer she saw indecent images but they were not
1:17.0	just any old indecent images oh no no the situation was much, much worse than she could have ever imagined.
1:27.2	And when Jade came to the horrific realization of what her stepdad had done. She wanted revenge and she decided to
1:36.7	carry it out in the most brutal way possible. And I won't say too much more at
1:41.7	this point all I will say is that this case is absolutely shocking.

1:51.0	So let's dive in. Jay Janks was born on the 14th of October 1983 making cut a Libra and she was born to parent
2:06.1	Jeanette and Steve Janx and pretty much from the get-go in Jade's life there was
2:12.3	chaos because when she was just three months old
2:14.8	her parents got divorced her mom had a lot of struggles with substances she did have a
2:21.6	drug and alcohol addiction, and unfortunately for Jeanette, this drug and alcohol addiction, it came before everybody else, including her daughter Jade.
2:31.0	And she just was not in the right place to be raising a child so Jade's dad Steve decided that he was going to divorce Jeanette and take Jade with him and raise Jade as a single parent.
