| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Fit Body Happy Joints. My name is Shannon. |
| 0:02.9 | Today's podcast, I'm giving you the first half of the workshop |
| 0:06.8 | that we did earlier this week. |
| 0:09.7 | I have spent hours and hours on this workshop and truly it's really an aggregation of |
| 0:15.5 | over a decade of my own education and research so I don't want to give away the |
| 0:20.3 | whole thing for free on the podcast but I am giving you the first half, which I think is |
| 0:24.9 | super important and will still be super valuable to you because I think that we really need to understand |
| 0:31.5 | and learn what not to do so that we can focus our energy |
| 0:34.5 | better and we don't feel like we have to overwork in order to see results. So in the |
| 0:39.1 | new year or really anytime someone wants to get fit I think that this could be any time of the year |
| 0:43.4 | not just the new year we are conditioned to immediately jump into intense workouts we want to |
| 0:49.9 | sweat we want to you know burn off holiday. Maybe we feel like kind of blea after like a month or two of not being super consistent. And so we want to hit the ground running. | 1:11.4 | And I talk about why this is not the best use of your energy |
| 1:16.1 | and how it can affect your metabolism. I really want to caution you from |
| 1:20.0 | jumping into an overly intense routine and I really break that down with hopefully what makes a lot of sense to you so that you can work out smarter not harder. |
| 1:28.0 | I also talk about the flip side of things which is becoming very popular is the low intensity craze or the |
| 1:34.1 | low impact exercise and like a focus on yoga and Pilates. I talk about my |
| 1:39.2 | opinion on how this can affect your body as well. So again, I think that understanding |
| 1:43.8 | where to focus your energy is very, very important |
| 1:47.8 | so that you're not wasting your energy, |
| 1:49.3 | you're not unnecessarily depleting yourself. |
