I was going to mention this too, you know, and you say that, you know, because I was there

too.

I mean, I was, I considered myself a progressive Mormon.

I was there.

You know, the worst thing ever happened to me, I think, was becoming a scholar.

I was one of the end of the packer say scholars and something about him is what a vein

of the church's existence, what I think he was writing to me is the term of the scholarship

piece.

I think as I became, as I journeyed through, you know, my blackness and trying to understand

what it means to be black to my experience, you know, I lost my, I lost the compatibility

with the church in terms of, in terms of, you know, feeling like I, this church is, I'm

already Mars in the lives.

Why do I want to go to my church and give Mars?

I don't want to do that.

But I'm happy for those who are in the fight, because I've met a lot of, a lot of young

people like Mars and the folks who are older than I am now.

It's interesting to look back and see these younger folks who were out last, you know,

20 years ago.

And then you want to tell them, you know, you know, tell them, this is quick, you know,

give them, they have to learn that journey on their own, you know, have to learn from

the young.

But I want to be there to help guide them if any help.
