How accurate are your grades?

My daughter was recently given an assignment to create a model of a volcano.

It was a group project meant to be done entirely at home and the main criteria was that it

had to look like a volcano with extra points if it could actually erupt.

In this episode, I am going to tell you about that project and how it illustrates a problem

I think educators need to wrestle with a bit.

If we aren't careful about the way we design our assignments, the grades we give may not

be measuring what they should.
