0:00.0	We have a huge government problem. We have a not insignificant regulatory problem and we have too much politicisation of civil service.
0:09.0	The civil service does now have an agenda.
0:11.0	So it's a problem of supply complexity caused by government ideology forcing us to have the energy mix they want?
0:23.1	Correct, yes.
0:24.7	But while pretending that it's a competitive free market.
0:29.4	Do we have green firms who lobby and support the green narrative because they get huge subsidies?
0:36.9	At the first order level, which is the subsidy, it's the same or more expensive.
0:42.9	And then you've got to add on the cost of backup, the cost of connections, the cost of
0:46.6	getalement, the cost of balancing, all of which are higher for renewables than they offer
0:50.8	conventional generation. Billions of dollars around the world have been spent on carbon capture with almost nothing

0:57.1	And Miliband thinks that we're going to somehow succeed where everyone else has failed.
1:01.3	I mean, the hubris is unreal.
1:03.8	And then there are other ways that we can look at decarbonization, particularly in the
1:07.9	energy sector in nuclear is a much superior solution.
1:10.3	The Canadian regulators actually came up with us originally, but they said if you use
1:13.9	nuclear to meet all of your energy needs throughout your entire life, the waste produced would
1:19.8	fit in a can of coat.
