She details her grandfather’s military career during World War II including being a prisoner of war, how he wrote the book in his seventies, how someone at Tom Hanks’ production company got their hands on a copy of the book when it was first self-published, where the proceeds of the book sales are distributed, and the inspiration that can be pulled from the pages.
