0:49.0	I was 13 at the time, and that was the first and only year that dad had missed Christmas.
0:54.6	He worked as a long-haul truck driver, and we were used to him being gone for weeks or even

1:02.0	He always made it a point to be home for our birthdays and Christmas, however, but that year

1:08.6	Mom was worried when he said that he had one final load to deliver before the holiday season.
1:14.3	His plan was to make his delivery and then be home on the 23rd just in time for Christmas.

1:23.3	As fate would have it, his route from our home in Minneapolis to Billings, Montana would take him right into the heart of a looming blizzard along I-94.
1:32.5	The snow was falling in bunches at the time, and Dad said that he was debating whether or not to pull over for the night in hopes that it would clear up.
1:41.6	He decided to try and just keep going, when the road made the decision for him.
1:48.5	He was only about an hour away from billions when his truck struck an unexpected patch of ice,
1:54.4	causing him to lose control then slide off the road into the median.
1:58.7	Thankfully, he wasn't injured, but his truck was wedged and nearly two feet a packed snow.
