about today. Are you ready to meet him? Before we meet him, I want to remind you about the job of a prophet in the Old Testament.

I want to take a minute and talk about a prophet.

We've talked a lot about profits so far in our stories. Do you remember the names of some of the profits we have learned about so far?

Do you remember Samuel? Samuel was one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament.

You might have noticed that a prophet's main job was to speak the words of the Lord.

The Bible says that the words God gave to Samuel never fell to the ground.

What does this mean?

How can words fall to the ground?

Well, it means that Samuel always spoke the words

God gave him to speak. Samuel never. Samuel always

obedient to speak. never ignored God's words, but he was always obedient to speak them.

Sometimes God gave the Prophet's words to speak to the people of Israel, and sometimes God gave words for the prophets to speak to the kings.

Whatever the Lord spoke to the prophets, they were to not let his words fall to the ground, but they were to be obedient and speak his words, whether they were words to the people or whether they were words to the kings.

They were kind of like God's messengers.
