Is it true that once saved, always saved?

That's the question for today's episode, because Carl asks,

do we have to continue to ask for salvation when we backslide?

And then Walt added on top of that, this context.

I'm a follower of Jesus who accepted Christ at 18, was baptized at 26, and now,

at age 70, I find that I question my commitment to Christ due to ongoing sin that does not

reflect what Jesus said in John 738. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said,

out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

Could you help me with that inconsistency?

Well, I can say that I would love to answer this question every day of my life.

Because every time I do, it allows me, causes me to reflect on the magnitude of the glory of the inexhaustible zeal of the grace of Jesus.

It's just, it's just a wonderful thing to think about.

The Bible overwhelmingly presents that you cannot lose your salvation.

And the reason for that is quite obvious.

Since you didn't save yourself, you can't lose what you didn't gain.

If your salvation is being lost, it's being lost by your Savior.

And if Jesus can lose his sheep, we are cooked. And I can remember the first time someone said that to me as a doubting young believer, you can't lose what you didn't gain. If it's being

lost, it's being lost by your Savior. I'll think of the implications of that. So three

passages that I think are very important. Do I have four here? I'm going to give you four passages.

First is John 10, 27 through 30. My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.

I give them eternal life. It's really important. The Bible keeps calling this eternal life.
