when I got an excited text at 7am from our producer Estelle,

saying that Tadashi Sasaki is willing to talk to us.

You heard about Tadashi Sasaki in the last episode.

He's the guy who was working with this Sri Lankan charity,

the one that was lined up to receive $20 million of stolen Bangladesh bank money.

That transaction got reversed because of a one-letter spelling error.

When we first started researching this, I didn't even think that Tadashi Sasaki was a real person.

I thought it was a fake persona set up to trick the charity into accepting the money.

It turns out not only is he real, he now wants to have a Zoom call with us.

So the day after we released Episode 8, I found myself speaking to him.
