CNN projects that Donald Trump will beat Kamala Harris to become the 47th president of the United States.

This was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time.

There's never been anything like this in this country and maybe being.

And now it's going to reach a new level of importance because we're going to help our country heal.

Trump declared victory after staging a historic comeback that makes him only the second president

in the U.S. to win non-consecutive terms in the White House.

So far, Trump's won 276 electoral votes to Harris's 223, and is winning the popular vote with 51%.

CNN's Elena Treen has been following the Trump campaign.

Well, Joe, as far as Trump remarks go, I would argue that that was one of the more unifying speeches he has given.

He said he wanted to heal the nation while also outlining his top priorities for his second administration.

Now, Trump's advisors tell me that they feel both excited, but also a sense of relief.

They went into Tuesday, cautiously optimistic, but had expected the race to be far closer

in the key battleground states than what ultimately unfolded.

Harris is expected to make a speech later today, and CNN's Eva McKend has been traveling

with her campaign.

As the nation waits to hear from Vice President Kamala Harris, those close to her are calling

for her campaign to be allowed the space and time to process their tremendous loss.

Going into election night, Harris's team voiced confidence in multiple pathways to reach

270 and they maintained they mean a strong case when it came to offering the country a new generation

of leadership. The election results convey those arguments did not win the day. Trump's election
