Michael Cohen once described himself as Donald Trump's spokesman, Thug, Pitball, and Lawless Lawyer.

Today, he's expected to take the stand as the prosecution's star witness,

as they try to prove the former president covered up a hush money scheme.

Cohen says Trump told him to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged

affair with Trump.

And he claims Trump falsified business records to hide payments he made to reimburse Cohen.

His testimony is central to the prosecution's case against Trump because he was involved in all

aspects of their allegations against the former president.

Trump has denied the affair ever happened and pleaded not guilty.

While this is Cohen's first time on the stand in the trial so far, the jury has already

heard a lot about him from other witnesses who have painted an unflattering

picture. And the defense is likely to use that in their cross-examination to try to discredit Cohen.
