The US jobs report is out this morning showing 250,000 jobs were added last month, reassuring

stability and bringing the unemployment rate down a notch to 4.1%.

That's more jobs unexpected as it was thought the U.S. labor market had slowed somewhat while

still being on solid footing, with the Federal Reserve

closely watching for signals that a slowdown in the labor market was

progressing into an overall economic downturn. Also, the next jobs report could be heavily distorted by the effects of Hurricane

Helene's devastation, the ongoing Boeing machinist strike, and the short-lived but

massive port worker strike.

Iran's supreme leader has marked the assassination of Hezbollah's chief in a sermon today

and that his country's attack on Israel on Tuesday was the quote least punishment.
