Hello from CNN, I'm Joe Beck, with the five things you need to know

for Wednesday, May 22nd. A parade of storms is still

barreling across the US after multiple people were killed by a tornado that

ripped through a city in Iowa. The Greenfield community has a long road ahead of them,

but if their actions today are any indication of what lies ahead,

they will emerge stronger and more united than ever.

That was State Patrol Spokesperson Sergeant Alex Dinkler, who didn't say how many people

were killed, but said it's more than one, and several are injured. The storms have brought

tornadoes, large hail, damaging wind, power outages, and some flooding to cities across the Midwest.

And now they're moving east, as CNN's Elisa Raffer explains.

Joe, 75 million people are at risk from Vermont to Texas for some severe weather today.

That Bullseye, though, lies in parts of Central and eastern Texas, including cities like Dallas

and stretching up towards a little rock.

That's where we can find hail to the size of tennis balls, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.

There are also some flood watches in effect.

Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding.

Ireland, Norway and Spain say they're going to recognize a Palestinian state.

They announced the decision this morning, saying it's a quote, important step toward peace in the region.
