Israel's security cabinet has approved the ceasefire and hostage release deal. And if the full cabinet ratifies it later today, Israel's Prime Minister's office says the first group of hostages being held by Hamas could be released as early as Sunday.

Under the deal, Hamas and its allied militant groups

will release 33 hostages, three of them Americans. The group also includes female soldiers,

children, the elderly and the sick. In return, Israel will free hundreds of Palestinian prisoners
