She's a mother and she's running for a state house of representatives here in Tennessee.

It's Ali Phillips, how are you?

Hi, I'm good.

How was it the drive up here?

It was lovely.

You know, this, you know, I, I've got a young baby. I've got a 15-week old and I normally am up at sunrise with him and he bestowed us the gift last night of letting us sleep in.

Oh, that is nice at 15 weeks? us and like my wife got him back to sleep I was like thank you so much August we appreciate that so I'm I'm fresh and bushy tailed for you.

Your story has picked up I think national attention right? Can you walk us through why you're running for

House of Representatives here in Tennessee yeah so my story actually not only has

national but also has international attention I've at the very early stages I did interviews out not out in but

for articles out in like Germany Switzerland Sweden like I've done interviews for a few different out of US countries.

What got me into running for office is I'm 29 years old and was not really politically

involved other than I would go vote like I did my due diligence I would go vote

in presidential elections that was about it. Last year I was 19 weeks pregnant and went to my anatomy scan.

Now this was a plan for and one in pregnancy with my husband.

And we found out the anatomy scan that pretty much everything that could be wrong was wrong.
