Donald Trump's big night. I'm Lee Silesera Fox News. The former president has

arrived on the floor of the Republican National Convention just moments ago

where he will formally accept the Republican nomination for the third time

in what's expected to be a unifying speech. Trump reportedly tore up the speech he intended to deliver

after the attempt on his life last weekend as delegates wait to see him.

I'm just excited to have him lead our country and that he's alive and he's well.

Sources tell Fox Digital that the former president will not mention President Biden by name in his

speech instead he's expected to use the term current administration instead.

This says the investigation continues into the attempt on Trump's life including how the suspect Thomas

Matthew Crooks was able to get onto a roof of a building so close to where the

rally was being held. A Secret Service source tells Fox News, the 20 year old quote,

retrieved his weapon and climbed onto the roof,

meaning the AR-15 style long gun was hidden somewhere

before the rally began.

Investigators have yet to nail down exactly where.

Investigators say the first time they saw the gun,

Crooks was holding it on the roof.

The source says Crooks was only a person of interest

before the rally began when he was seen pacing around

magnetometers and acting strangely.

He only became an elevated threat when he physically got on to the roof.
