That's the deal President Trump's working on with Ukraine, an economic partnership involving

rare earth minerals. Secretary of State Marco Rubio just told Fox.

So it's close and it's good. Look, it's a good deal. It's an important deal.

We still want to end this war. I mean, that's the important thing the president's made very clear.

And President Trump might sign it at the White House Friday with Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky,

who had complained about U.S. Russia negotiations to end the war without Ukraine involved.

Rubio says, I've talked to the foreign minister of Ukraine twice in the last six days. So to say that we're not engaged with them is just not accurate.

In three hours, Secretary Rubio will attend the first cabinet meeting in the second Trump presidency.

Fox's Peter Ducey reports from the White House.

They're getting the long table in the cabinet room ready for all these cabinet secretaries to come take their seats alongside President Trump and Elon Musk, the guy who is looking in their

agencies at stuff to cut. Musk and Doge working to slash spending and get federal workers to

write emails justifying their jobs. The House has approved what President Trump has called

one big beautiful bill, though it's just in a blueprint form for now, passing a resolution that

includes more border and military funding and extends the 2017 tax cuts.

All that would have to be worked out with the Senate. Congresswoman Claudia Tenney tells Fox,

those tax cuts, if they expire, and I'm on the Ways and Means Committee, could be a $4.5 trillion tax increase.

There was one House Republican who joined Democrats voting no.

Thomas Massey opposes the $4.5 trillion price tag on the tax cuts.

Republicans are planning $2 trillion in spending cuts to offset some of that.
