Last time on Appalachian Mysteria, we set the scene.

Morgantown, West Virginia, the home of WVU, 1970.

Illegal gambling, several prominent unsolved murders and the attempted assassination

of a local prosecutor are making the city feel unsafe.

On a cold snowy night, two freshman girls named Merritt Malorick and Karen Farrell

They decide to hitchhike from the theater back to their dorm and are seen getting into

what is described as a cream-colored sedan.

Weeks later, Merritt's purse is discovered along a road south of Morgantown.

The local press starts a public relations war with the governor and police, who they believe

are screwing up the investigation and keeping secrets.

On this episode, the bodies of Merritt and Karen are finally discovered.
