Good morning everyone, it's time.

And Julie.

Just like in Fishes.

You know, normally I start our podcast, kind of with an upbeat tempo, but I don't know

that we can do that this morning.

Yeah, it's crazy when I don't know.

I just think folks, you know, and I have so many thoughts.

So before I start getting into my thoughts, let me apologize ahead of time.

If I say something that is deemed offensive out of ignorance to anyone who listens to

our podcast, I am a white male that grew up in the rural south.

All town, Westminster, South Carolina, train tracks ran through it.

You had the black families that lived on one side, the white families that lived on

the other.

And I never knew what racism was.

I mean, you know, my best friend, my entire life, one of my best friends, Sonja Jenkins.

She and I were friends, our entire life so much so that people talked that she and I were

dating and going together behind the scenes or whatever.

And you know, I remember Sonja and I laughing and saying if they just, if, if just only

they knew and we didn't care if they knew, you know, I had so many black friends growing

up and my parents never said, you can't play with them.

You can't bring them to our home.

There was none of that.
