Scott Lara and his wife just returned from their 41st wedding anniversary. First off, before we even jump in here, congratulations, man. Doug, thank you very much. I will tell you, 41 years is a long time. Marty and I met here in Jacksonville, actually at a church. Two grown kids, three grandkids. It's been quite a ride, but I will never do it again.

Were you in the military when you met? That's correct. I was a U.S. Navy, I am a U.S. Navy

veteran. I was stationed at Mayport. I was a radarman, a Morrison FFG 13. And that's why I love cruising so much brother because I just love me not to see. So you're on Celebrity Equinox. It was a seven-night

cruise over to Porta Plata, San Juan, and St. Kitts.

Now, before we jump into the ship itself and talk all about that, let's get some pre-cruised thoughts. Like, what made you want to take this sailing? Well, I tell you, for all transparency, Doug, it was not a comp. It was not a travel agent rate. So I paid full boat, no pun intended. but the reason why we went, number one is our anniversary.

And number two, celebrity has never had a ship out of Port Canaveral.

And you and I are here in Jacksonville.

It's only a two and a half hour ride down 95 south, much better than going to Port Everglades

when Marty and I were on the celebrity reflection a couple months ago. So a quick ride down there and it just totally made sense. Let me ask you about Port parking space because I'm the kind of person that like I just, when I get off the ship, I just park in the garage and just want to get out of there because I don't want to wait in a line for a shuttle to get there or anything like that. How was that parking service? Because I've done like the Radisson one and a couple of other ones. Yeah, that's a great question, Doug, because especially like Miami or other cruise ports, that line can be seven miles long going into the parking garage and then trying to get out. It could be a real pain in the next. So I've discovered port parking space down

there in Port Canaveral. The number one reason I love them is because they have great military discounts. You pull in, hey, they even have EV charging. I mean, they're going to still charge you for parking, but you park if you got an EV, you charge up for free while you're gone, so you're all, you know, charged up when you leave. But yeah, port parking space and the best part about it was it was

right across the street from Terminal 1. We could actually see the celebrity equinox from the parking. You get to the cruise port. How was it embarkation and how long did it take you to get from the ship or from the curb to the ship? Doug, you and I've been doing this a long time. Back in the day before COVID, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour. They have got this down to a science. I mean, number one, you got the app, you take your picture, you plug in all your stuff. You know, we got off the shuttle. We go in. There's like nobody there.

2:52.7

And our boarding time was 1230.

2:55.2

We actually didn't get to Terminal 1 until 1245.

2:57.4

Nobody was in there.

2:59.0

We go up the escalator.

3:02.5

I'm flabbergasted that no one is in the terminal.
