Let me start by saying that my mom is super rational and level-headed.

She is a cool head in any emergency and rarely freaks out or loses her composure.

She's not the type to make up stories or lie, so I believed it was true when she told me about this encounter.

My mother is in her 70s now, and this story takes place when she was in her 20s,

so 50 some odd years back.

My mom was still living at home after finishing college because she was still looking

for a job.

My grandparents were traveling around the country together at that point, and they were not home when this incident occurred.

Her family had lived in this house since she was 12, so she had been there for a long time

and never really saw anything weird until now. One night she woke up from a dead

sleep for no apparent reason in the middle of the night. Off to her left out of the corner of her eye,

she saw a soft white glow.

My mom turned her head and saw the figure of a woman float from the wall and begin to cross the

room slowly.

So, she said that this had to be a ghost or whatever because there was no way

that this was a human being moving at this rate and being so you know glowy.

She said that this thing whatever it was was wearing a long white gown like the ones people wore back to sleep in the olden days

The ghost stopped in the middle of the room turned to look her, but it never spoke a word.

After a couple of seconds, it continued to cross the room, passing through the opposite

wall and vanished at a sight. The whole encounter was maybe like two three minutes at most.

The next day my mom called my grandpa and told him what happened, but he didn't believe

her and thought she was just dreaming.
