Jeni Britton Bauer grew up in Ohio, one of the key swing states for Biden in the 2020 election. She lived in Columbus from the age of 12, and before that, Peoria, Illinois. Jeni opened her first ice cream shop, Scream, in 1996 and Founded Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in 2002. As Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Jeni remains the beating heart of the company and is in charge of all creative output—from the ice cream itself to the supporting details that enhance the experience of eating it. Jeni is the author of the New York Times best-seller “Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home”. With more than 100,000 copies in print, the cookbook dubbed the “Homemade Ice-Cream Making Bible” by The Wall Street Journal earned Jeni a 2012 James Beard Award, America’s most coveted honour for writing about food and the culinary arts. Jeni’s follow-up, “Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Desserts” (May 2014), includes more than 100 new recipes for ice creams and ice cream desserts. The gorgeous cookbook includes more than 100 easy-to-execute recipes, including seasonal favourites (Savannah Buttermint) and signature staples (Salty Caramel). Jeni is a 2017 Henry Crown Fellow and has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the most creative people in business today.
