Summary
Clare De Graaf is a cancer survivor, sort of “retired” businessman, a friend, a mentor, the chairman of the board for The Center for Faith, Sexuality & Gender, founder of many Christian non-profit ministries, and one of the most zealous, faithful, wise Christian leaders I’ve ever met. In this conversation, Clare talks about his journey in the faith--which involves many twists and turns, ups and downs--and his contagious outlook on the kingdom of God.
You can read more about Clare, his life and ministry, and his book The Ten Second Rule, on his website: https://www.claredegraaf.com

| 0:00.0 | Hello, friends. Welcome back to another episode of Theology in the RAW. I have on the show today my very good friend |
| 0:08.8 | ministry partner and in many ways a mentor in my life. |
| 0:14.0 | Claire de Graf. Most of you are probably not going to know the name Claire de Graf, but as I |
| 0:21.1 | as I say in the podcast, he kind of chuckled about this. I often refer to him as kind of like the |
| 0:26.1 | forest gump of Christianity. I don't think he's ever actually heard me say that about him and he was |
| 0:31.8 | taking back. I said, well, let me explain. I said, you know, in the movie forest gump, it seems like |
| 0:37.5 | forest kind of shows up everywhere and in various historical moments throughout the 20th century. |
| 0:42.9 | And I feel like that's been Claire's journey. He's kind of operated behind the scenes of Christianity, |
| 0:50.3 | evangelicalism. You know, he's never been like a mega church pastor, never, you know, |
| 0:54.6 | written a New York Times bestselling book or whatever, but he's had a significant influence on |
| 1:01.4 | evangelicalism in many different ways. Most of all, he just has an incredible story. He is 71 |
| 1:07.8 | years old. And as you'll hear, he had a pretty tragic awakening happened in his mid 30s and he |
| 1:14.8 | decided to really live out this Jesus thing and really radical ways and has just done so much |
| 1:21.7 | for God's kingdom. I love his humility. I love his posture. And I'm excited for you to get to know |
| 1:27.2 | him and hear, you know, various aspects of his of his adventure as he puts it in Christianity. |
| 1:35.8 | If you would like to support the show, you can go to patreon.com forward slash theology in the |
| 1:39.6 | raw or you can just go down and look at the show notes, whether you're watching on YouTube or |

| 1:48.4 | you can go to my YouTube channel if you're watching and want to just listen to it, you can go to my |
| 1:52.0 | podcast. So without further ado, let's get to know if you want to own me because I heard a graph. |
| 2:09.8 | All right, I'm here with my friend Claire to graph of we go back. I mean, a few years now, |
| 2:20.9 | Claire, it's been four or five years, four years maybe? No, probably, yeah, about four and a half |
