Today, I'm fortunate to welcome Dr. Jason Fung for the fifth time. Jason Fung, MD, was born in 1973 and trained in Los Angeles and Toronto as a kidney specialist. He founded The Fasting Method (TheFastingMethod.com) to provide evidence-based advice for weight loss and managing blood sugars, focusing on low carbohydrate diets and intermittent fasting. In this episode, Dr. Jason Fung emphasizes that fasting should not be followed by binge eating, as it negates the benefits of the fast. The purpose of fasting is to allow the body to use its stored calories, such as glucose and fat, which is beneficial for weight loss and managing type 2 diabetes.
