this is Danielle Town and we are here for the invested podcast where we're talking about investing and we're thinking, you know,

that it might be a little interesting to talk about the election that's happening tomorrow.

Yeah, I mean, we've been doing this multi-part series dad on our typical like what are the four

principles of investing according to Charlie Munger which has been awesome and I think we're on part seven maybe yeah

yeah i say seven but we're gonna take a little break from our multi-part series because

yeah this massive election is happening in the US and we both thought that we

should not ignore that and we should address it from an investing

perspective. Yeah there's a guy that did some research on this and and I'll look him up

while we're talking off I'll get you guys the data we'll put it on the website where he he found that if the

incumbent party the president from the incumbent party is in a time coming up to the election where the S&P 500 has gone down that year in the election

year.

Okay during the year of the election but before the election? Yeah, so like on the day of the election but before the election?

Yeah, so like on the day of the election,

if the S&P 500 is lower than it was when it started in January 1st,

okay.

The incumbent president loses the incumbent president's party loses.

Okay. All right and if

so loses seven out of eight times.

Ah, not every, okay, so there is an exception.

There is an exception.

And this year the market's been down, right?
