Welcome to Bible stories. We are your hosts Matt. Hello and my name is Todd. We're two ministers slash buds who love the stories of the Bible and man we want to share them with you and well Matt today's story is not about lazzer me it's about lazzer us that's right buddy today we're talking about Lazarus the man who tasted death and came back.

Todd things are a little tense in the opening of our story.

Lazarus who's a friend of Jesus is sick, super sick. And I'm not talking about the kind of sick that we describe

your sweet, sweet olleys with. You know, as you're on that skateboard, going that gravel you kick a 360 that's sick

This is a real 60. Yeah dude you just kick out those 360s

Uh-huh is that what they're called? Yeah man's pretty soon

It's called a pop shove it actually actually, is what it's called.

Mm, I've heard it both ways. Yeah, agree to disagree, huh?

But your boy is so sick that his sister is Mary and Martha, we see them elsewhere in scripture they

feel compelled to send somebody to Jesus and let them know about it and from this

Todd mom we gather a couple things. Number one, Mary and Martha, they know that Jesus can

heal their brother and then secondly, we see that they would believe that Jesus loves

Lazarus so much that when he hears this news, he's going to travel to them and heal

Lazarus. However, when Jesus has given the message, Lord, he whom you love is ill, meaning Lazarus, Jesus

responds in a really unique way. This is what he says buddy. Jesus says

this, this illness does not lead to death.

It's for the glory of God, so that the son of God may be glorified through it.

Now keep in mind that the sister's assumption is that Jesus he loves Lazarus that assumption that's totally correct he really does he loves all three of these siblings

but he's not moving right now he's not going to go see Lazarus, he's got a bigger plan in mind. So Jesus waits.

He waits for two more days before he travels to go help his boy Lazarus. And after this waiting Jesus tells his boys, his

disciples, he says this, let's go to Judea again. Judea is where Lazarus is. He's in a

town called Bethany. And this seems cool.
