Two-minute warning edition, post it on Fridays to give you something to think about

watch for or do to finish your week strong and maximize that weekend. I will also include an

occasional red zone rant, but not today. In this episode, I want to talk about saying no to

empty boxes. Empty boxes. Here's what I mean. Imagine a beautifully wrapped package with your name on

it. It's attractive, it's enticing, but when you open it with all your eagerness and anticipation,

you find it empty. It doesn't meet your expectations. You're no better because of it. In fact,

you're worse as a result of it because you've wasted time and energy

endeavoring in it.

Empty boxes are all over in life as well for us. They're everywhere.

How many of you opened or are you opening or will you continue to open? You know what I mean?

These attractive but empty meaningless or detrimental hobbies, distractions that look good. Maybe they're on television. Maybe

they're on the radio. Maybe they're on the internet. This beautifully wrapped package that you

spend time with. You go away from what is productive in order to indulge in it. You put your

valuable energy into it, but it leaves you empty. Why do empty boxes leave you empty? Because it is a trap. It's an

empty box. There's nothing there. It wastes your time. It wastes your life. It could be a habit.

It could be something on media. It could be something you watch on the internet. It could be

something trivial that you do that is not adding value to you or to others. Give up the empty

boxes. Learn to recognize and label empty boxes in your life. Maybe it's just the wrong type of

relationship, right? When tempted to engage, just remind yourself, it's an empty box. I got to move on.
