Hello everyone and welcome to a very special, very, very special. It's always special, but it's very special today.

A very special interview on Mormon Stories podcast. It's November 1st, 2017. I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween for those of you who celebrated it.

I am just jumping out of my metaphorical chair with excitement to have on Mormon Stories one of the first non-Mormons ever.

Now we have had a few non-Mormons. If any of you remember, we once did the three Interfaith Amigos where we had a rabbi along with an imam and a priest, which sounds like a joke.

But we have had a few non-Mormons in the past, but today we are going to be having acclaimed author, Tova Mirvus.

This is her most recent memoir. It's her book. It's entitled The Book of Separation. It's an amazing, incredibly relevant memoir about her experience as an Orthodox Jew, marrying an Orthodox Jew, but then losing her faith.

And what that did to her marriage, being in a mixed faith marriage as an Orthodox Jew, and then eventually losing her faith and having to end the marriage.

I'll just give you a small sampling of what my experience with this book has been like so far. Here is a page. If you guys can see it, here is a page in the book.

And it shows you how relevant the book is for me. That's just one sample of the page. But I think liberal progressive and post-Mormons are going to find this book incredibly relevant.

And today we're going to talk to Tova about her story. And we're not going to cover the book fully intentionally, because what we're going to do is kick off a new round of Mormon Stories Book Club.

We're going to invite everyone to read this amazing book. And then like in a month, we're going to have Tova back, and we're going to dig into the book in depth.

But this interview is to capture her story, capture a lot of background, and then talk about it in a month.
