So I figured on the way over there, this is probably like a domestic violence thing or something

that happened in a big house, you know, one of these mansions or whatever.

It turned out to be in the park and that the folks there are not from here.

So they had no place, you know, they weren't local.

We're at his house in a nice suburban neighborhood, not far from the station.

We're talking about that day, June 22, 2018, when he responded to a shooting at Malibu Creek

State Park.

One of our deputy, a female deputy, was close by and was there.

I don't know whether there was a ranger there prior or not.

It was still dark and crazy in there.
