I'm John Sosier Fox News, Democratic representatives in Texas, debating a new congressional map that favors Republicans.

Fox's Jessica Rosenthal has more.

Ahead of the vote, Texas Democratic representatives like Linda Garcia spoke out, calling the map a racial gerrymander and picked apart the new lines county by county.

The very heart of Dallas's diverse communities is being diluted by drawing counties that do not

reflect the same racial or cultural makeup. But the bill's author, Republican Representative

Todd Hunter, insisted this wasn't about race, but about politics. While there's no guarantee of an electorate success, Republicans will now have an opportunity

to potentially win these districts.

The National Redistricting Foundation has already asked a federal court to block the

Republicans' new congressional map from being implemented.

The wind and the surf continues to ramp up this afternoon along the outer banks of North

Carolina.

I'm on the beach right at the edge of the surf and just offshore.

We've got six to eight footers

breaking. It looks like a giant wash tub effect in the Atlantic today. Off the coast of Cape

Paterus at the buoy, 20 foot seas. These wave heights will increase and as they come into the
