Debating the U.S. attack. I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News, the United Nations Security Council,

just wrapping up an emergency session on the U.S. strikes, special envoy to the U.N., Dorothy Shea.

The time finally came for the United States in the defense of its ally and in the defense of our

own citizens and interest

to act decisively. The Iranian regime cannot have a nuclear weapon.

Iranian ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeed Ravani, claiming the Islamic Republic's nuclear program

is only to produce domestic energy. It has been exploited as a pretext for aggression and unlawful action that jeopardized the supreme

interest of my country.

The ambassador today's UN Security Council meeting in the wake of the American attack on Iran's

sites last night, critics of the Iran strike saying President Trump defied the

Constitution. Defense Secretary Pete Higzeth said Sunday morning that congressional leaders

were notified of the Iran strike. After the planes were safely out, we complied with the

notification requirements of the War Powers Act. On Fox News Sunday, Virginia Democratic Senator

Tim Cain said the president overstepped the War Powers Act, calling the Iran strikes. An offensive

war of choice by a president without consultation with Congress. Senator Kane said a briefing on

the strike will happen this week, as will a vote on his resolution that limits any action in Iran without

the OK of Congress.

And Kane said he expects some GOP support for that limit.

Meantime, New York Democratic Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Gortez, and other Democrats

calling for President Trump's impeachment following those air strikes

because he did not get approval for the attack from Congress.
