If we acknowledge our kids experience with compassion,

and I know you don't want to get ready for bed,

it's hard when you have to stop one thing and do another,

right?

Acknowledge their experience.

Compassion for it is some way to relate to the experience. I hate it when that happens

it happens to me to. Is if we're honest with our kids and willing to be vulnerable and

say it's hard for me to then we make ourselves human our kids are much more comfortable

talking to us and our kids are less likely to struggle with some of the perfectionism that so many

of our kids deal with.

If we try to make ourselves look perfect,

then our kids think that they're supposed to be perfect.
