Today, the inquiry had evidence from two residents on the upper levels of the building, on floors 16 and 22.

Naomi Lee lived in flat 195 on the 22nd floor with her husband Lee and her cousin, Lydia

Liao.

She had owned the leasehold to the flat since 2011.

Before the fire, Naomi remembers hearing the ventilation system in the building coming on

at random times.

Lead counsel to the inquiry, Richard Millett, read from her witness statement.

I could remember it going on continuously for a whole night on one occasion.

It is very noisy, and we could hear it from our flat.

We know that when the ventilation was on, the lift was shown as out of service.

When we heard ventilation, we always thought,

oh no, not again, because it affected us when the lifts were not working. It was at least as loud

as a vacuum cleaner. Leomy Lee and her husband regularly called the tenant management organisation,

who ran the building, to come and ask them to fix the system. After the refurbishment of Grenfell Tower,

Leone Lee also had an issue with the new windows which had been installed.

You can see, they didn't seal it properly.

And it came to a really big problem when it was really cold one night,

and we just hear the whistling through all the windows.

And then we found out actually it's not only the side that they didn't seal properly,

it's underneath the entire frame underneath. There's actually a gap between the wall and the window frame.
