Hi there and welcome back to the podcast Matt Walker here and welcome back to the the much requested series on sleep, cannabis, THC and CBD.

We've already covered the cannabis and THC components of this series in prior episodes.

Today we're going to focus exclusively on CBD. CBD.

Let's start with what it actually is.

CBD is actually called

Kanabber dial, CBD.ial, C B D. And C B D is what we call a phytokinobanoid.

A phytokinobanoid is simply found in plants and specifically the cannabis plant.

But what you should also know is that CBD from the cannabis plant is not what we call

a psychoactive component.

THC is a psychoactive. active component of cannabis and what that means is that's the thing that

gets you high.

CBD doesn't have that psychoactive high effect.

That's exclusive to THC.

So that's a little bit about what CBD is, canabodile and how it is extracted from the cannabis plant.

And when you separate CBD from THC, what you're doing essentially is separating two components, one of which is the psychoactive component, the thing that gets you high, that's THC, and the other is the non psychoactive component.

That is the CBD. So what does CBD do for the body and the brain? Well, CBD has been studied for its possible

role in treating various conditions, including anxiety, movement disorders as well as pain and also as well as addiction.
