about watch for or to do. To finish your week strong, maximize your weekend. I will also include

an occasional red zone rant, but not today. In this episode, I want to talk about the truth about

talent. You know, you look up the definition of talent.

It says a special or natural ability. Now, we all have talents at something. What's important is that we develop the talent we have. And I want you to just consider this and think about this

as you go into the weekend or whenever you happen to be listening to this. I want to give you

some truths about talent. It can be overrated,

it can be underestimated, it can be discarded and totally wasted if you're not aware. First of all,

number one, talent's a great head start, but it's no guarantee of performance. We've all seen people

with immense talent that don't work hard, that become the victim, that have the wrong mindset.

So you still have to work hard to develop

the talent that you have, which brings us to number two. It must be developed within the confines

of structure, of discipline, of consistency. You just don't develop your talent by winging it,

shooting from the hip, making stuff up as you go along. You need the confines of structure,

discipline, and consistency.

Also, think about this. Talent without toughness is largely wasted. What good does it do you if you have talent but you're not mentally tough enough because you don't work on your mindset to persist

through the difficult times? It will be a huge disappointment. I would also say this.

Toughness beats talent when talent isn't tough.

Give me the person with less talent and more toughness than the talented person that's the mental

marshmallow and I will beat you every single time. Lastly, I'd like to say pursue the talents you have,
