| 0:13.8 | answer your question, share our thoughts, share some favorite quotes and overall just get you |
| 0:18.0 | fired up for a phenomenal week. As always, we've got a jam-packed |
| 0:21.9 | awesome episode ahead. And we're going to kick it off like we always do with our primary question. |
| 0:27.0 | And our primary question for this week is, is it possible to lose weight without tracking my food |
| 0:33.1 | intake? And I'll jump in here. I know Kyle's got some incredible notes, so I'm really excited for |
| 0:37.0 | that. But what I'll say is almost anything I know Kyle's got some incredible notes, so I'm really excited for that. |
| 0:42.8 | But what I'll say is almost anything is possible with weight loss. There are a million ways to do it. |
| 0:49.3 | There isn't necessarily a direct right way to do it. So keto, meal plans, a flexible dieting, |
| 1:11.1 | intuitive eating. Any of these things will work. You could do the McDonald's meal plan. it would absolutely work absolutely fine so long as you're in a deficit. Will it be best for your health? Absolutely not. And there's things that are more optimal than others. There are things that are less optimal. And I think a great analogy is like finance. There are crazy moonshots where there's some sketchy guy in the corner says if you give him money, |
| 1:14.8 | he's going to invest it for you and you're going to see crazy returns and be a billionaire. |
| 1:18.1 | Your chance of that happening are slim to none. |
| 1:20.0 | In fact, I'd actually argue they are none. |
| 1:21.4 | Like that's just ridiculous. |
| 1:23.9 | But people will take that approach to their diet. |
| 1:44.7 | They'll assume that they take some special pill, drink their cranberry juice and do their thousand squats every night that they're going to have some dream body. It's not going to happen. It's just the same with like McDonald's. theoretically, you could be in a deficit. You could hit your macros with McDonald's, but it's garbage food. You're going to be excessively hungry. It's going to not feel great. You're going to have horrible trans fats and things like that. And you're like you're playing a game that's going to be less likely for your success. |
| 1:48.6 | And I feel very much this way with like keto and other really nichey diets. It's not to say they |
| 1:53.8 | don't work for some people, but stats say they don't work for most. And that's why time and time again, |
| 1:59.7 | we firmly believe in tracking your calories, |
| 2:02.2 | sustainable dieting 8020 because these tools are the most uniform and successful for most people. |
| 2:07.3 | And to that finance example, it's just the same as like saving your money, investing in indexes, |
