0:13.0

I'd say one of the best guests we've ever had on here back again. The first time we had a chat with Luke Keakley was phenomenal and I think this one's giving better.

0:21.0

One of the best conversations that we have with a former player who really has a great perspective on the game. Luke Keakley obviously with three time defense play of the year.

0:33.0

Two time defense play of the year for sure, but you talk about a guy who understands how to play the game understands the ends and outs of the game to have a conversation with him about the nuances game is a fantastic.

0:44.0

Yeah, he was NFL defense of player the year in 2013. He was the rookie of the year in 2012 seven time pro bowl or five time first team all pro.

0:54.0

So not not too shabby of a career there for Luke Keakley and really one of the most cerebral players you'll ever talk to. So it's awesome.

1:02.0

We get a chance to visit with him. I did do a little homework. Just before we get to that interview buck because last time we talked to Luke, he brought up the fact that what's that matters to you as a linebacker like what are you into?

1:13.0

Yeah, I think that's the most important thing to do.

1:16.0

So we have a lot of tackles for loss for off the ball linebackers was always telling so in looking that up. There's a rookie that's leading the lead right now in tackles for loss from off the ball.

1:23.0

It's actually Nick Bolton for the Kansas City Chiefs. So having a phenomenal year there in Kansas City 11 tackles for loss as an off the ball linebacker followed by Di Mario Davis, who's been doing it a long time.

1:35.0

Matt Milano's got nine. You've got real quant Smith with eight and then you've got three guys tied with seven Dion Jones, Quincy Williams, who was picked up by the Jets.

1:44.0

And the Jags didn't didn't want him any longer and then Patrick Queen Patrick Queen gets a lot of heat for what he doesn't coverage, but clearly making some things happen against the run on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

1:54.0

So I always thought was a fascinating point. He brought up about tackles for loss for off the ball linebackers.

1:58.0

Well, I think it's even more fascinating when you think about Nick Bolton and the draft, you know, and some of the concerns be it with the size of speed or winning the stuff, but then when you watch them on tape.

2:08.0

And Missouri, he made a ton of plays. And so it's just another lesson like little man, trust what your I see like guys who kind of find the ball and college have a tendency to find the ball in the pros. And he is, I mean, he is quickly become an impact playmaker for the Kansas City Chiefs on the defense.

2:24.0

You know, well, we're going to have a fantastic conversation coming up here with Luke Keakley, one of the best defensive players we've seen the last 25 years in the NFL, just phenomenal. And again, you're going to appreciate the intelligence city brings to the sport as well.

2:38.0

You're going to love this conversation. We're going to roll that right after this.

2:45.0

All right, Buck, so excited to have Luke back with us. Luke, appreciate the time, man. I guess first of all, just what you've been up to since we last caught up to you.

2:54.0

Yes, so I've always enjoyed the outdoors. I love the fish. I love to hunt. And when I was playing, you know, the fall is a lot of times the best time to do all that stuff. So I've been on a few trips. I've been on a couple of trips with my dad a couple buddies and going on a trip with my cousin the next two weeks.

3:09.0

I've been out. I've been Kansas Montana down the Texas. And then we're going to head to South Dakota here the first week of December. So I've been staying busy with that something I've always wanted to do. I miss I miss the game, but this has been a cool opportunity for me to do something in the fall that I otherwise I'm been able to do.

3:26.0

Okay, so how you getting your football fixed though? Like how are you keeping up with it? What are you doing to stay on top of it? Because I know you can't be away from it for that long.
