case to rest. Everyone except the victim's own mother. Carol Dodge wasn't convinced that the case was

fully solved, so she went to speak

face to face with the man that they say raped and murdered her only daughter. But when she saw

Chris Tapp sitting there in his prison overalls, just one look in his eyes confirmed it for her.

They had the wrong guy. With that, Carol took the investigation into

her own hands. She followed new leads, badgered the police for information, and even questioned

local drug dealers for clues. She was relentless, driven by a mother's love and a fierce pursuit

of justice. After 20 years of detective work, Carol was able to free an innocent man for a crime that

he did not commit, and it forced the police to reopen her daughter's case and start looking

for the real killer.
