Okay, so first of all, just how did you decide

to start doing prose fiction?

Well, I had come up with an idea for a graphic novel, the Baltimore and the Stedveston soldier, or the Stedveston

soldier, and I just never got around to it. Hellboy, you know, was taking up more and more of my time and the Baltimore storyline got

bigger and bigger and I realized I was just never going to be able to take a year away

from Hellboy to do this thing.
