Okay, we have a little bit more from Kathy Schingler, as you might recall, from episode

80, she's the interpretation officer from Stokes Museum Service, and she's been working

with the Horde since she was pretty much found, and she's a fantastic resource.

So one of the things I noticed as well is looking around the Horde that we have on

display here at Stoke on Trent, is that it's primarily offensive in nature.

There are a lot of body armor and there are a lot of helmet pieces, but there is that

one cheek piece that we have.

There is, and there were probably two cheek pieces originally.

We have fittings for two cheek pieces, and just a little strip that may have come off

the companion cheek piece.

It's not a cheek piece every day.

Sometimes people decide it can't possibly be a cheek piece, because it's too small, and

it's true that if you just put it on the edge of an ordinary cap helmet, it would be

The other problem is that it's gold, and gold is a stupid thing to make armor out of,

because it's soft, and if somebody hits it, it'll just crumple and not defend you at
