Donald Trump's Washington, and the price of submission. I know Mark because he did a profile of me for

the New York Times Magazine where he worked for years and years in 2016, and we've been friends

ever since, although he kind of screwed me. Now let me explain. He had come to Minnesota

to follow me around for a few days.

This is August 2016, and he's driving me to the state fair.

Well, two days earlier, Anthony Wiener had been caught sexting with a woman, not his wife, while laying in bed

with his toddler son. As you might recall, this was kind of the last straw. This is after he had

tried to rehabilitate himself. Now, Mark had recently done a Q&A for the Times Magazine with Weiner, and that morning a New York

City radio station had asked them if they could do an interview with them.

And driving up to the fair, Mark was complaining about being looked to as an authority on Anthony

Weiner.

So five minutes later, we walk up to the Farmers Union booth and I get a call on my

cell phone from my son, Joe.

Now, Joe is a crazy, crazy, rabid Minnesota Vikings fan, something he got from his dad.

And I answer the phone and Joe is absolutely distraught.

My son tells me that that day in practice, this is preseason.
