I'm joined by journalist, speaker, and author of acclaimed books on human behaviour, Ian Leslie.

Hello, Chris. Hello. Very nice to be here. How are you? I'm good, thank you. I'm just

delighted to be on this show, one of my favourite podcasts. Oh, thank you. Your book,

conflicted. I guess everybody who speaks to you uses the spread. It's much needed at the moment.

But I think in Beatles community, there's a strong argument about who speaks to you uses the bread it's much needed at the moment but i think uh in beatles community

there's a there's a strong argument about who sang the ars on a day in the life

tell me yeah tell me briefly about because you examine why why arguments tear us apart and how

they can actually bring us together yeah so so the book is about how to have

better disagreements. Because I mean, so very briefly, you know, I think we look around

at all the kind of terrible toxic arguments that we see around us and also some of the

stressful arguments that we get into. And we think, oh, this is terrible. i'm going to avoid it but actually once you do that

you're you're cutting off an immense source of creativity and and insight and um and connection to people

actually you get you get closer to people i think in argument and so the book is about how to you know

just do it do it better you know how to argue better know, just do it, do it better.

You know, how to argue better in a way that actually leads to insight and ideas rather than acrimony.

And actually, like just about everything I do, it does touch on the Beatles.

There's one or two stories about the Beatles in there. So, yeah, I'll leave that to listeners to discover for themselves.
