And on today's episode, we're going to talk to Dr. Jonathan Pennington about the Sermon on the Mount.

And we're going to be just trying to dig in to see what

maybe is this kind of fresh take on the sermon on the mount that Dr. Pennington has provided in his book,

the sermon on the mount and human flourishing. Dr. Pennington is a first-rate scholar. He's also a churchman. So he knows that the heart of these issues are not just how we rightly understand them in the word of God, but also how they translate into our lives and have a meaningful impact. We had a lot of fun with Dr. Pennington.

Dr. Pennington is Associate Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Seminary,

and he's a director of the doctoral research studies there.

Dr. Pennington is the author of numerous books including

how to read the Gospels wisely and the Sermon on the Mountain Human

Flourishing. On top of writing and teaching, Dr Pennington is a member and

serves at soj during Community Church in Louisville
