Summary

18-year-old Hae Min Lee disappeared after leaving school on January 13, 1999. After finding her body weeks later, police arrested her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed for the murder. Syed was convicted and has been in prison for 19 years. But was the evidence enough to put him behind bars? Is he the real killer? Or does new evidence suggest otherwise?

Okay, tonight's case is a case from 1999 in Baltimore, Maryland. It's about the

murder of Hayman Lee, which is a pretty popular case in an ongoing case, and we'll cover that here in a few minutes.

Let's start with the people involved in this story, in this case.

Hayman Lee was the victim of the murder.

At the time, she was an 18-year-old senior at Woodlawn High School. She played field hockey,

lacrosse and she worked at the local LensCrafters. She also volunteered as a manager on the wrestling team and she was known locally as a real go-getter.
