All the roads going to New runs are super quiet and it is even by the standards of the Kibbut sim down there

it's quite remote and a bit away from everything else.

Niroz is a kibbutz, a kind of communal village, a bit over 100 kilometers from Tel Aviv,

and about two and a half kilometers from the fence that encloses the Gaza Strip.

Bethan McKernan, who covers Israel and Palestine for the Guardian, visited the Kibbutz a couple of weeks ago.

It's like walking into a film set is how it feels of a disaster movie because nothing's been

repaired or fixed really since October the 7th last year.

Everything's got IDF markings and coats on the front,

sort of spray-painted on the front to show that they've been

clean of explosives or dangerous material or whatever or whether the house is damaged and safe to enter.
